Alicia (LeLeDaArtist) Johnson-Black, born in Opelousas, Louisiana, is an international artist and art educator whose creativity began at just four years old. With a degree in Art (concentration in Painting) and a Post-Baccalaureate certification in K–12 Art Education, she has dedicated her life to both mastering her craft and teaching the next generation of young artists. She has been teaching since 2012 and is widely recognized as a Jackson Square artist in New Orleans.

 

LeLeDaArtist work has reached audiences across the world—featured on television, in newspapers, and shared widely online, with several pieces going viral. Her art has been collected internationally, by multiple celebrities, and she has created two permanent public landmarks in her hometown of Opelousas.

 

Working primarily in oil paint and 3D mixed media, LeLeDaArtist specializes in portraits and nostalgic moments that honor culture, memory, and the human spirit. Her style is soulful, detailed, and deeply rooted in storytelling—inviting viewers to feel seen, connected, and inspired.
